Longzhu Gaming top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha has been fined 1 million Won ($920 USD) for a racist comment made while playing in solo-queue.
According to a competitive ruling from Riot, while playing in a “personal practice” game Khan told his teammates “4 Chinese can’t win,” knowing that the enemy team had several Chinese players on it.
Khan has also been suspended for one game, meaning he will miss out on Longzhu’s first game of the spring season. This is a blow to the team coming off the back of their disappointing worlds debut. Longzhu were considered favorites to win until they were knocked out in a decisive 3-0 sweep by Samsung Galaxy. Samsing Galaxy went on to take the title in another 3-0 sweep over former champions SKT-TI in the finals.
Pressure will be on substitute top laner Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee to lead the team to a much needed first win of the season.
