Tech giant Apple have been increasing their work in original TV show content at a fast pace just recently. It has been confirmed that they have ordered their fourth scripted series project, a straight-to-series science fiction drama called See from Peaky Blinders and Taboo creator Steven Knight.

It was reported last year that Apple wanted to invest in original programming which they hope will rival the likes of Netflix and Amazon. There could be as many as 10 new shows overall and there are no signs of them slowing down. Previous confirmed projects include a reboot of the Steven Spielberg created anthology series Amazing Stories, a science fiction space series from Outlander’s Ronald D. Moore and a drama set in the behind-the-scenes world of a television morning show which will star Reece Witherspoon alongside Jennifer Aniston.

Not much is known about the plot, but See has been described as an epic, world-building drama set in the future. It has also been revealed that the project hails from Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor. Further to this, it is confirmed that Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence will be an executive producer, as well as Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo.

It will be interesting to find out what will be commissioned next and who will be involved. There is said to be a huge budget of $1 billion available for Apple to try and become competitive in the TV series department. This also adds more weight to our recent report that Apple may be in the market to buy Netflix.

If you’re eager to find out what is coming next, then fear not as we will keep you up to date with anything new on See and any projects from Apple in the future.
